Worked closely with a client that manufactures a high volume of different plastic parts through molding where, through this process, these parts are subject to manufacturing defects that need to be accounted for manually. As the project lead, we collaborated with our client to build out a multistep solution to managing these defects, where our ultimate project goal is to entirely automate the process of identifying these parts with defects, sortation, preparation, and repairing with the use of multiple different systems. To kick off the project, I began developing a computer vision system capable of identifying these defects using AI models and traditional CV methods.
